State of California Airfares (YCAL)

Overview of YCAL
The State of California, Department of General Services, has negotiated and entered into agreement with various airlines for discounted airfares. The current State of California airfare rates are effective July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008, and are renegotiated yearly. These domestic and international airfares have been made available for use by the UC system and offer the following important benefits:

Restrictions include, but are not limited to:

The American Express BTA has been pre-arranged with each authorized travel agency by UC Davis Accounting & Financial Services. When making flight arrangements with our authorized agencies, you will need a valid billing ID and a traveler ID. The traveler ID for employees is their employee ID. If you are arranging airfare for a non-employee that does not already have a traveler ID, create one here. Note: State of California contracted airfares cannot be purchased using personal credit card accounts, UC Davis U.S. Bank VISA corporate card accounts, or Central Travel System (CTS) accounts.

It is the responsibility of the employee and department to obtain the most cost effective arrangements for all university business travel. If the California State airfare requires an unacceptable connecting flight or a traveler can accept restrictions applicable for other discounted airfares, non-State of California contracted airfares should be used.
